Col. Dennis Beal - ISITCol. Dennis Beal (USMC, ret.) retired from active duty in 2004 after 28 years as a Marine Corps officer, including 14 years as an acquisition/procurement executive and program manager of six top-level $40-$300 million dollar strategic business organizations that cover the expanse of engineering, technology development and conceptual design of products and systems encompassing the broad scope of science and technology requirements.

Previously he was a Senior Partner for University Venture Capital Growth (Appellation LLC) in which he provides the management and leadership for a business development and research team that generated $120 mil of revenue for universities in sponsored and applied research and commercial partnering opportunities.

He previously served as the Executive Director, Strategic Commercial Alliances / Programs for the Texas A&M University System where he had the institutional responsibility for providing program management and outreach services to over 400 commercial and business partners, including 11 universities and nine state agencies in the 3.8 billion dollar TAMU System. He managed the industry and governmental entities engaged in program and research initiatives at the university and commercial level. He was the business development and program capture manager for seven major program efforts, worth in excess of 1.1 billion dollars.

He has managed the P&L functions for a $30 mil division at Northrop Grumman Corp. as a Senior Director for Strategic Business Operations and Advanced Programs. He executed the acquisition, marketing and strategic business strategies, and implementation of development plans for Sensor and Surveillance Systems on autonomous aircraft.

 

He was also the Senior Director for Program Development, Acquisitions, and Strategy for Ericsson Inc. USA. He lead and directed the functions of a commercial business unit concentrating on managing and developing the business models, corporate strategy, and implementation of pursuit and capture plans for the sales and marketing of the utilization and integration of Ericsson commercial telecommunications systems by the U.S. Government.

As a senior officer in the Marine Corps he was as the Executive Director (ED) of four major directorates. He managed the U. S. Navy’s Office of Science and Technology in which he had primary responsibility for the development of future technology needs of the USMC and USN.  He was also the ED for a 150 mil. dollar future combat systems and advanced technology  directorate  for the Army and Marine Corps.  He has held 4 command positions and is a Level III Certified ACAT I Program Manager for government programs in excess of $1 Bil.
