Dr. Joe Mercurio is an engineering and business development leader with more than two decades of experience advancing new energy technologies at General Motors. He supports new business development for GM’s HYDROTEC hydrogen fuel cell platform, helping expand its use beyond automotive applications into areas such as stationary power, heavy-duty transportation, and other advanced energy markets. He has represented GM in major hydrogen and fuel cell initiatives, including the company’s broader stationary power efforts, the U.S. Army’s ZH2 hydrogen-powered vehicle program, and hydrogen-related innovation activities connected to the University of Michigan. Dr. Mercurio earned his doctorate at Cornell University.
